In a digiQC inspection workflow, the Maker and the Checker are the two main roles:
Maker — the person or team who does the work and raises the RFI when it's ready for inspection. On site this is usually the contractor (or their engineer).
Checker — the person who carries out the inspection, filling the checklist against the work. This is usually the PMC or QC engineer (the client's / consultant's side).
So the Maker builds the work and requests the check; the Checker inspects and records the result. An Approver may then sign it off (where approval is set).
The Maker raises the RFI; the Checker does the inspection.
Some workflows also have the Maker's own QC team clear the work internally before the Checker is called.
Who plays each role is decided per project by the roles you assign.
