Answer
These are the terms the help uses to explain an inspection in construction language. They are not roles in digiQC:
Maker team — the team that does the actual physical work on site, usually the contractor's team.
RFI Initiator — the person who raises the RFI when the work is ready for inspection, usually the contractor's engineer.
Checker — the person who carries out the inspection, filling the checklist against the work. This is usually the PMC or QC engineer (the client's / consultant's side).
So the Maker team builds the work, the RFI Initiator requests the check, and the Checker inspects and records the result. An Approver may then sign it off (where approval is set).
Good to know
The RFI Initiator raises the RFI; the Checker does the inspection.
Some workflows also have the RFI Initiator's own QC team clear the work internally before the Checker is called.
These are terms used in the help to explain the work on site, not roles you assign in digiQC.
