Once an approver approves an inspection stage, the stage passes directly — you don't have to click Pass yourself. This is true whether the approver approves without a comment or with a comment.
Approved without a comment — the stage passes directly and the next stage opens.
Approved with a comment — the stage now also passes directly (a direct pass when approved with comment). The approver's comment is saved and shown on the next stage, the EQC detail, and the report. (Previously this needed a manual Pass step — that step has been removed.)
The approver can approve on web or mobile — the direct pass happens the same way either way.
The direct pass shows one log row with status Pass and the actor as "–" (no user name, because it's a system pass) — the same as an approve-without-comment pass.
The date, time and time zone are recorded (e.g. 03/07/2026 | 10:01 am · Asia/Kolkata).
As soon as the stage passes, the next stage opens. When the assigned user opens it, they see that stage's comment and a single action button:
Start Inspection — if the next stage is an inspection.
Raise RFI — if the next stage is an RFI stage.
Starting the inspection / raising the RFI is done on the mobile app. On the web app, the approver's comment stays view-only on the EQC detail and report.
Last stage: if the approved stage is the last one, the direct pass completes the whole checklist/EQC — there's no next stage.
Do I still click Pass after the approver approves with a comment? No — approve-with-comment now passes directly; the manual Pass step is removed. The comment is saved and shown on the next stage, EQC detail and report.
Why does the pass show "–" as the user? Because it's a system (direct) pass, not done by a person — the same as an approve-without-comment pass.
What if it's the last stage? The direct pass completes the whole EQC — there's no next stage.
Direct pass on approval applies to stages that have an approver. A stage with no approver keeps its existing pass behaviour.
The reminder set when the stage was sent for approval carries to the next stage — you're not asked to add it again.
If you're not the approver, the approve control is greyed with a note to ask your Project Admin for approver access.
