When your setup requires approval, an RFI (Request for Inspection) goes to an approver first. You fill in the checklist and Seek for acceptance, notifying an approver who reviews the RFI and accepts or rejects it. Once accepted, the inspection stage can proceed. This guide shows that flow.
Open the Inspect module (Inspections tab) and select/switch the project from the top.
Tap + Add, select the checklist, and enter the location — type it manually, or pick a predefined location from Nomenclature and add a custom name. Then tap Raise RFI (top-right).
Select the witness and add photos; add drawings if they are mandatory. Then answer all the checkpoints. To record extra observations, tap the + (additional point) button. Then tap Seek for acceptance.
Select the Team to notify, select the approver to notify, set the "Inspection request on" date and time (mandatory), and tap DONE.
The RFI syncs automatically (shown at the top). The selected approver receives a notification, reviews the RFI, and then initiates the next stage.
It's a setup where the RFI must be reviewed and accepted by an approver before the inspection can go ahead.
This flow adds an approval step — you Seek for acceptance and notify an approver, rather than notifying the inspector directly. (See 2.2.8 RFI process without Approver.)
You tap Raise RFI to open and fill the checklist, then tap Seek for acceptance to send it to the approver for review.
The approver you notified. They can accept it (if complete) or reject it with a comment — see 2.2.7 RFI process and inspection.
For an RFI, only a single level of approval can be set. For the inspection stage, up to three levels of approval can be set.
Yes — you must set the date and time while seeking acceptance.
The user assigned the checklist — the RFI/approver flow decides when the inspection can start, not who does it (see 2.2.7).
This flow is used when the setup requires approval before the inspection.
RFI supports only a single level of approval; the inspection stage can have up to 3 levels of approval.
You fill in the full checklist (witness, drawings if mandatory, all checkpoints) before seeking acceptance.
You notify an approver; the approver reviews and accepts/rejects the RFI.
The "Inspection request on" date and time is mandatory.
After acceptance, the next (inspection) stage proceeds, started by the user assigned the checklist.
