RFI auto-numbering gives every RFI a unique number in a format you design — so no one numbers RFIs by hand. You build the number from ready-made parts (project, checklist, date/time, a running number, nomenclature levels).
This option is available only if the digiQC team has given your organisation the right. Once available, it can be used only when RFI is switched on for the project (project settings).
Make sure RFI is on for the project.
Open the RFI numbering setup.
Build the number using up to 7 parts, in the order you want, from:
- Project — Project Name, Project Code - Checklist — Checklist Name, Checklist Stage, Reference Number - Date & Time — Full Date (DDMMYYYY), Long Date (DD-MM-YYYY), Date (DD), Month (MM), Year (YY), Time (HH:mm, 24hr) - Sequence — Number (the running serial) - Nomenclature Levels — Nomenclature L1 to L7
The Number part is mandatory — you can't save without it.
Set the Start value for the Number if you want the sequence to begin from a specific figure (useful when adopting it mid-project). Default is 1.
Save.
If an RFI is re-raised because the inspection was Failed or sent for Redo, digiQC does not reuse the old RFI number. A new RFI number is assigned, taking the next available number in the sequence.
So every attempt gets its own unique RFI number, and the sequence keeps moving forward — you can always tell a re-raised RFI apart from the original.
Why can't I see RFI auto-numbering? It's available only if digiQC has given your organisation the right, and only when RFI is on for the project.
Is the Number part compulsory? Yes — the format cannot be saved without the Number part.
Can I start numbering from a specific figure? Yes — set the Start value (e.g. begin at 250 if adopting it mid-project). Default is 1.
What number does a re-raised RFI get? If an RFI is re-raised on Fail or Redo, it takes the next available number in the sequence — the old number is not reused.
RFI numbers run sequentially across all checklists in the project (one continuous sequence).
Once set, the RFI number appears in the report, the web detail page, and the mobile inspection stage.
Plan the format before the first RFI — it can't be changed once numbering has started.
