When you build a register template, three special fields give a register extra power — an EQC field that links entries to inspections, an Attachment field for photos/PDFs, and a Calculation field that works out results automatically. All three are added while creating the template (see 2.4.2).
Added in the Detail part of the register template.
Once added, it lists all the project's EQCs — both passed and in-progress — and the filler can select the relevant one(s). Multiple selection is allowed.
This directly links the register to the EQC. A user can click the link to open the EQC.
A user can open the EQC only if they have access to that EQC — otherwise the link will not open.
The link appears on the register log detail page and in the report.
Available in both the Detail part and the Table part.
Once set in the template, the filler can add up to 3 attachments per field — each a photo or a PDF.
If more than 3 are selected in one go, only the first 3 are kept and the rest are skipped.
The limit counts what's already there: if 1 is already attached and you then select 5, only 2 more are added (to reach 3) and the other 3 are skipped.
Available in both the Detail part and the Table part.
It auto-calculates the result — the filler doesn't have to do anything.
Build the formula on one of three tabs:
Date — write a Formula (example: daysBetween('startDate', 'endDate')), using your Date Fields and Date Functions — Days Between, Add Days, Subtract Days. (Add the required date fields first.)
Then Save.
Where are these fields added? While creating the register template (2.4.2). The EQC field goes in the Detail part; Attachment and Calculation can go in the Detail or the Table part.
How many attachments can I add? Up to 3 per field (photo or PDF). Files beyond 3 are skipped, counting any already attached.
Do I have to work out calculation fields myself? No — a Calculation field auto-calculates as the register is filled.
What can a calculation use? Numeric (operators + Mean/Median/Std), Date (Days Between / Add Days / Subtract Days), or Time (Time Subtraction).
The EQC field turns a register into a live link to your inspections (cube tests, material tests, etc.), opening only for users who have access to that EQC.
Attachment fields accept photos and PDFs, max 3 each.
Calculation fields update on their own, so totals and durations always match the data.
