Your project has a ready-made location list, the nomenclature tree list, set up once so everyone picks the same places. When you start an inspection, raise an issue or create a register log, you choose where the work is from that nomenclature tree list. You can also type your own name instead, and you no longer have to type anything if the list already says where you are.
Open the location screen. You will see the trail at the top and the list of places below it.
Tap a place to go deeper — Building A / First floor / Interior. Stop wherever you like.
If the place is not in the list, type it in the search box. Tap + Create "…" to use what you typed as your own name.
For a location with more than one part of your own, create one, then create the next — Pier 14, then Segment 3. There is no limit.
Tap Done.
If your project is set to Nomenclature Only, steps 3 and 4 do not apply — the box searches the nomenclature tree list, and there is nothing to create. Ask your System Admin if you need that changed.
Tap down through the list as usual — one tower, one floor, one area.
When you reach the last level, the rows have tick boxes instead of arrows, because there is nothing deeper to open.
Tick every item you inspected. There is no limit — tick five of forty columns, or all forty.
Use the search box to find them in a long list. Your ticks stay while you search and after you clear the box.
Tap Done. You get one inspection covering all of them, and its location reads Col C1, Col C3, Col C5.
To change them later, tap that step in the trail — the list re-opens with your items still ticked.
On a Flexible project you can also type a name after them — type it in the box and tap + Create. Your ticks stay, and the location reads Col C1, Col C3 / Starter bars.
No. That is the change. Pick as many levels as you need and tap Done — typing is now optional.
Yes. Any level is a complete choice. You do not have to reach the last level.
Type it in the search box and tap + Create "…". You do not have to pick any level first.
That is expected — once you create a name, the list closes. Tap any step in the trail at the top to change it. Tap a level and you get that level's choices back; tap a name and it comes into the box to edit. Nothing is lost unless you then pick something different.
Create the first, then just type the second and create that too. There is no limit, and each one can be removed on its own.
Nothing has been chosen yet. Tap a level or type a name and it turns on.
It was renamed, because you are finishing the location step rather than creating something.
That is the same rule the field always had — a length or format limit. Correct what you typed and try again.
Rename it from the web app. That is the same rename you have always had; there is no way to add or change it on mobile afterwards.
Yes. Creating a register log on web uses the same screen and the same rules as the mobile app.
No. Every project starts on Flexible, which is where typing is offered and optional. Your admin can set a project to Nomenclature Only if every place is already in the list.
Your project is set to Nomenclature Only, so locations come from the list alone. That is a choice your System Admin or Project Admin made for the whole project. If a place you need is missing, ask them to add it to the list.
Nothing. They keep the location you saved and read exactly as they always have, in every list, report and export.
No. Tap down to the last level and tick all five. You get one inspection covering all of them. This works on every project.
An arrow means there is another level underneath — tap it to go deeper. A tick box means you have reached the last level, so there is nothing to open and you simply choose the items you inspected.
As many as you like. There is no limit.
You did not. Ticks stay while you search and when you clear the box. Search, tick, clear, search again — they all add up.
Tap that step in the trail at the top. The list re-opens with your items still ticked — untick the wrong one, tick the right one. Nothing else is lost.
Because it is a step from your project's list, not a name you typed. You change it by re-opening it and unticking, the same as any other step.
A slash means one level deeper — Tower A / 5th Floor. A comma means several items in the same place — Col C1, Col C3, Col C5. Slashes for the address, commas for the list at that address.
That is on purpose. They always read in your project's own order, so two inspections covering the same columns read the same way and can be compared.
No. You tick the items you actually inspected, one at a time.
Tick boxes appear only where every row in the list has nothing below it. If some rows still have an arrow, that list is not the last level yet — tap the item to go deeper. If you need tick boxes there, ask your admin to arrange the nomenclature so those items sit at the same level.
Yes, on a Flexible project. Tick the items, then type the name in the box and tap + Create. Your ticks stay, and the name comes after them — Col C1, Col C3 / Starter bars. It is still one inspection.
Once you create a name the list closes — pick your levels first, then create.
At the last level you get tick boxes and can choose several items at once (multiple selection), on every project. Every level above it is one item.
Ticking several items makes one inspection, not one per item.
Your ticks survive searching and clearing the search box.
Items read in your project's order, not the order you ticked.
You can create as many names as you need, and remove any of them on its own.
Tapping a step in the trail never loses anything by itself — it only shows you the choices for that step.
A name you typed lives in the trail only. Tap it to edit, or tap its ✕ to remove it.
If you spot a mistake after finishing, rename from the web app.
