2.2.10 How inspector can utilize Nomenclature in Mob app?

Nomenclature is a standard location-naming structure preset per project by the System/Project Admin on the web app. On the location box you pick the predefined location, then add the on-site variable part, and tap Done. If none fits, you can create your own.

Overview

Nomenclature is a standard way of naming locations, preset for each project by the System Admin or Project Admin in the web app (app.digiqc.com). A location is made of two parts: the predefined part you pick from the project's Nomenclature, and the variable part you add on site.

🧭 How to use

  1. Open the Inspect module (Inspections tab) and tap + Add. Switch the project if needed and select the checklist.

  2. If Nomenclature is enabled, you'll see a message telling you it's enabled for the project.

  3. Tap the location box — the project's predefined Nomenclature locations are available to select. Choose the one that applies.

  4. You'll then be asked to add the variable part of the location (the on-site detail). Add it.

  5. Tap Done.

  6. If the predefined location you need isn't available, you can create your own by adding the variable part.

❓ FAQ

1. Who sets up Nomenclature?

The System Admin or Project Admin, in the web app (app.digiqc.com), for that specific project. Inspectors select from it on the mobile app but don't set it up.

2. What is the "variable part" of a location?

It's the part of the location that is decided on site and can't be predefined. For example, a slab may have 10 columns but only 5 are being cast right now — which 5 is situation- and site-based, so you add that as the variable part.

3. The predefined location I need isn't listed — what can I do?

You can create your own location by adding the variable part yourself.

4. How do I select a location?

Tap the location box → pick from the project's predefined Nomenclature list → add the variable part → tap Done.

5. Does Nomenclature appear when raising an RFI too?

Yes — it appears in the location step whenever you start an inspection or raise an RFI on a project where it's enabled.

💡 Good to know

  • A location = predefined part (from Nomenclature) + variable part (added on site).

  • Presets are configured by the System Admin or Project Admin on the web app (app.digiqc.com).

  • If no predefined location fits, you can create your own using the variable part.

  • The variable part covers the site/situation-based element or area that can't be predefined.
